Unique API

Rollout — Spaces and messages

tech From .42, the new Unique API is rolled out for the Spaces and messages batch.

  • B3 Spaces and messages — /space, /messages, /message-execution, /message-log, /message-assessment.

  • The base URL does not change. Integrations continue to work at https://gateway.unique.app/public/chat/{resource} — no client action is required.

  • This batch is enabled in .42. Every other domain stays on the previous implementation until its own release.

Behaviour changes to expect on these resources

  • 403 Forbidden — RBAC is now enforced. Calls from users without the required role are rejected.

  • 400 Bad Request — stricter request validation. Payloads that do not match the new contract now fail.

  • 422 — internal errors return a clear, accurate message instead of a generic failure.

Security — LLM proxies restricted to an allowlist

TECH From .42, the OpenAI and Anthropic proxies forward only the inference routes Unique uses and reject every other method or path with 403 Forbidden.

  • Still forwarded: Chat Completions, Responses, Messages, token counting, model listing, image edits, and Code Interpreter containers.

  • Now rejected: other OpenAI-compatible routes such as /v1/files, /v1/batches, /v1/assistants and /v1/vector_stores, plus LiteLLM management and provider passthrough routes. These were previously forwarded.

  • Applies to /public/chat/openai-proxy, /public/chat/anthropic-proxy and the internal proxy routes.

  • No client action is required for supported routes. If an integration needs another inference route, operators can allow it with OPENAI_PROXY_EXTRA_ALLOWED_ROUTES / ANTHROPIC_PROXY_EXTRA_ALLOWED_ROUTES (see 2026.42 Infrastructure Changes).
