Unique API

Rollout — Assist and agents

tech From .44, the new Unique API is rolled out for the Assist and agents batch.

  • B4 Assist and agents — /openai, /integrated, /agent, /mcp, /elicitation, /web-search-api, /entity-language-model, /context-memory.

  • Stays on the previous API: POST /openai/chat/completions, including calls that send a company id and no user. POST /openai/embeddings and GET /openai/models move with this batch.

  • The base URL does not change. Integrations continue to work at https://gateway.unique.app/public/chat/{resource} — no client action is required.

  • This batch is enabled in .44. Every other domain stays on the previous implementation until its own release.

Behaviour changes to expect on these resources

  • 403 Forbidden — RBAC is now enforced. Calls from users without the required role are rejected.

  • 400 Bad Request — stricter request validation. Payloads that do not match the new contract now fail.

  • 422 — internal errors return a clear, accurate message instead of a generic failure.

Messages — skip stored prompts when listing

tech From .44, GET /messages and GET /space/chat/{chatId}/messages accept an optional excludeGptRequest query parameter.

  • With excludeGptRequest=true, gptRequest is not loaded and is returned as null on every message. It holds each message's full prompt history and can be very large on long chats.

  • Accepted values: true / false (case-insensitive). Any other value returns 400 Bad Request.

  • Without the parameter, responses are unchanged. No client action is required.

SDK

Messages — skip stored prompts on list calls

tech unique_sdk.Message.list and unique_sdk.Space.get_chat_messages (and their _async variants) accept excludeGptRequest=True. gptRequest is then returned as None.

  • Space.get_chat_messages with excludeGptRequest needs platform .44 or later; older platforms reject the parameter with 400. Message.list is safe on older platforms (the parameter is ignored).
