Securely collaborate with Unique

Unique Tenant ID:

Org Name: Unique AI AG

Scope: B2B direct connect1

What it is

B2B direct connect sets up a mutual trust relationship with a client's Entra tenant. No guest account is created in either directory. The client's users sign in with their own home-tenant credentials and access only a Teams shared channel — nothing else in the hosting tenant (no team, no SharePoint, no Azure portal).

Requirements

Both parties must feature Microsoft Entra ID as well as Teams licenses, and both admins must enable the same settings on their respective side. It's mutual — one-sided config does not have the desired effect.

Prerequisites

  • Unique’s Entra Tenant ID (see top)

  • You are a Global Administrator or Security Administrator of your tenant

Setup steps

1. Add Unique as an organization

Entra admin center > External Identities > Cross-tenant access settings > Organizational settings > Add organization > enter our Tenant ID (see top)

2. Configure inbound settings

On the added organization, edit Inbound access settings > B2B direct connect:

  • Allow inbound access

  • Leave everything else as is

If desired, switch to the Applications tab and select applications but at least Microsoft 365 (Unique recommends for now to allow all applications).

3. Configure outbound settings

Same organization > Outbound access settings > B2B direct connect:

  • Allow outbound access for users/groups who need to collaborate with Unique (or ideally everyone from your tenant)

  • Allow outbound access in the Applications tab and select applications but at least Microsoft 365 (Unique recommends for now to allow all applications).

Propagation: Changes to these settings can take up to 6h to take effect. Refer to the Microsoft B2B Direct Documentation for more information.

1 “B2B Collaboration” (not Direct Connect) for now is omitted as it creates Guest objects in affected Entra tenants and is not the recommended way of simple collaboration from Microsoft.
