Skills in Unique AI Conduct

Overview

Skills are pre-packaged capability bundles that extend what your Unique AI Conduct agent can do. They contain instructions, scripts, templates, and reference materials that teach the agent specialized workflows — from generating formatted Excel reports to applying your firm's branded document templates. Conduct includes built-in skills for creating Word, PowerPoint, Excel, PDF, and branded-template documents, plus interactive HTML deliverables.

When your admin sets up skills for a Conduct space, they're loaded into the agent's environment at the start of every session. The agent uses them automatically when your task matches a skill's purpose — you don't need to name or invoke skills explicitly.

Who is it for?

Anyone using a Unique AI Conduct space. If your admin has set up skills for your space, you're already benefiting from them.

If you're unable to access certain features or sections of this article, it's possible that your firm doesn't have access or hasn't upgraded to the latest version. Please reach out to your internal support team for further assistance.

How Skills Work

  1. Your admin sets up a skills folder in the Knowledge Base for the space. Every skill stored in that folder becomes available to the agent.

  2. At session start, the agent loads the available skills into its working environment.

  3. When you send a task, the agent checks if any skill matches your request. If it does, the agent follows the skill's instructions and uses its bundled scripts or templates.

  4. You see the results — the skill improves the quality, consistency, and speed of the agent's output.

You don't need to know which skills are installed. The agent decides when to use them based on your task description.

What Skills Can Do

Skill Type

What it does for you

Document production

Generates professional Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and PDF documents with proper formatting, headers, and styling

Interactive deliverables

Produces self-contained interactive HTML output — dashboards, explorable reports — instead of a static file

Branded templates

Applies your firm's house style and approved templates so output looks like it came from your organization

Company-specific

Custom skills your admin creates — your organization's compliance rules, review checklists, or proprietary workflows

Which Skills You See

Skills can be set up at different levels of specificity: for your whole company, for a particular space, or for a team. Your admin maintains these.

If the same skill exists at more than one level, the most specific one wins. A team skill overrides a company-wide skill of the same name; a skill you've saved for yourself overrides both — but only for you. Skills you save are private: your colleagues never see them, and saving your own version never changes the shared one everyone else relies on.

This is why two people in the same space can sometimes see slightly different skills.

Tips for Working with Skills

  • Be specific about output format. If you want an Excel file, say so — the agent will produce a properly formatted workbook rather than a raw table.

  • Mention the document type. Saying "create a PowerPoint" or "generate a PDF report" triggers the right skill automatically.

  • Trust the process. Skills contain detailed instructions that the agent follows. If a skill produces a specific format or structure, it's by design — the output should be consistent across sessions.

  • Provide your data. Skills work best when you upload the files they need. A skill that builds a workbook needs the source figures; a skill that applies a branded template needs to know which template to use.

  • Iterate if needed. Skills produce a solid first pass. You can then ask the agent to refine: "make the chart blue", "add a summary section", "reformat column headers."

Creating and Refining Your Own Skills

Shared skills — the ones available to everyone in a space — are created and maintained by your administrators. See Skills Management in Unique AI Conduct.

If your admin has enabled it for your space, you can also build up your own personal skills directly in conversation. Just ask the agent:

  • Save a workflow. After the agent completes a multi-step task you expect to repeat, ask it to save that as a skill. It will confirm with you before saving.

  • Refine an existing skill. Ask the agent to change how a skill works. This gives you your own private version — the shared skill everyone else uses is left untouched.

  • Go back a version. Ask the agent what versions of a skill exist, or to roll one back to how it was before.

Anything you save this way is private to you and available automatically in your future sessions in that space — no admin step needed.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How do I know which skills are available in my space?
A: You don't need to — the agent selects the right skill automatically based on your task. If you're curious, ask the agent: "What skills do you have available?" It can list what's loaded.

Q: Can I create my own skills?
A: Yes, if your admin has enabled it for your space. Describe the workflow you want to capture and ask the agent to save it as a skill; it will confirm with you before saving. You can keep refining it in conversation. Skills you save are private to you and available automatically in future sessions — you don't need an admin to add them.

Q: If I change a skill, does that affect my colleagues?
A: No. Refining a skill saves your own private version. The shared skill your colleagues use is never modified.

Q: Why did the agent produce a different format than I expected?
A: A skill may have been triggered that applies a specific template or format. If you want a different output, be explicit: "Don't use a template — just give me the raw data in a CSV."

Q: Do skills slow down the agent?
A: Not noticeably. There's a small setup step when a session starts, and the platform caches skills so you rarely feel it. Once loaded, skills actually speed the agent up by giving it proven workflows instead of figuring things out from scratch.

Q: Do skills persist between sessions?
A: Yes. Skills live in the Knowledge Base and are loaded into every session. If your admin updates a skill, you'll pick up the latest version automatically.
