Overview

Custom configuration is the path after a template is close but not right. You change one building block at a time. The space still has a single configuration, so every sheet in the space inherits the change. Existing sheets do not pick up review-status changes until you run the migration described under Custom Review Statuses.

The building blocks

• Columns define the table: what is extracted, what is answered, what is scored, and who reviews it.

• Metadata is context that is not a question. Sheet metadata describes the whole questionnaire. Row metadata describes one row.

• Question extraction turns an uploaded file into rows.

• Output creation turns finished rows into a DOCX, an XLSX, or a filled copy of the original questionnaire.

• Answer Library stores verified answers so the next questionnaire can reuse them.

• Knowledge search decides which documents an answer column may read.

The long default JSON for every column field should stay split across the tutorial that owns each field. It should not be copied back into one reference page.
